Eligible disabled individuals and persons 65 years of age and older are able to ride CAT fixed routes for half-fare at any time. To be eligible for half-fare an individual must satisfy ONE of the following when first boarding the bus:
- Present a Medicare Health Insurance Card issued pursuant to Sections II and XVIII of the Social Security Act.
- Present a CAT half-fare I.D. card issued after April 1, 1998. Interested individuals may call (912) 233-5767 to obtain an eligibility form for the half-fare program, print the form from the CAT website, or visit the following location:
- Disabled individuals must return the completed eligibility form in person to CAT Central, 124 Bull St, Monday - Friday, 8:15 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and noon - 4:15 p.m. There is a $3.00 non-refundable processing fee.
- Elderly individuals must return the completed eligibility form in person to CAT Central,124 Bull St, Monday - Friday, 8:15 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and noon - 4:15 p.m. There is a $3.00 non-refundable processing fee.
- An individual who is using a wheelchair may ride for half-fare without presenting an I.D. card.

After installing Acrobat Reader, please download, print, complete and submit the application form as required.
Disability Application: Half-Fare
The Chatham Area Transit Authority (CAT) has a half-fare program for eligible disabled persons, and has developed eligibility criteria for this program based on the Federal Transit Administration's (FTA) definition. Use this form for eligibility information and application submission.

Elderly Application:
The Chatham Area Transit Authority (CAT) has a half-fare program for eligible elderly persons, and has developed eligibility criteria for this program based on the Federal Transit Administration's (FTA) definition. An "elderly person" means any individual who is 65 years of age or over. A Medicare card issued to the individual pursuant to Title II or Title XVIII of the Social Security Act may be used to ride CAT fixed-route service for half-fare at any time.
