Savannah, GA – If you are considering attending the St. Patrick’s Day parade on Saturday and do not want to deal with the hassle of traffic and parking fees, the Chatham Area Transit Authority (CAT) can assist.
 In partnership with local city officials, CAT will operate four shuttles on Saturday, March 17. The shuttles cost $5 roundtrip and the boarding locations are listed below:
- Westside Shopping Center on Hwy 80 in Garden City,
- Eastside at the Island Towne Centre on Whitemarsh Island near Walmart on Hwy 80,
- Southside at the rear of Savannah Mall, 14045 Abercorn St., near the food court, and
- Port Wentworth’s Rice Creek Elementary School, 9001 GA Hwy 21
The shuttles will operate from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. and begin return trips from the downtown Savannah JMR Transit Center, located at 610 W. Oglethorpe Ave. at noon. The return shuttles will operate until 4 p.m.
In addition, CAT’s fixed route buses and paratransit services (for people with disabilities) will be fare-free on Friday, March 16 and Saturday, March 17. However, many buses will be operating on detours during the Saturday parade. CAT customers needing to get to work are urged to plan early and contact customer service at (912) 233-5767 if they have questions.
The Savannah Belles Ferry will operate on a regular schedule and is fare-free, as always.
