CAT To Implement Service Changes In March

03/06/2024 – Effective Monday, March 11, 2024, Chatham Area Transit will implement service changes for some fixed-routes. These changes will not impact all routes.

Impacted route and time adjustments:

  • 3 West Chatham: New route pattern for Sundays that will combine Route 3 and Route 3B. Monday- Saturday will stay as is.
  • 3B Augusta Ave: New alignments to provide service to Groves High School and to provide bi-directional service on 3rd St. in Garden City. The 3B will not run on Sunday, but service will be combined with 3 West Chatham. 
  • 4 Barnard: Route alignments to provide service on Sallie Mood Drive on Inbound and Outbound trips. Route will now service Goodwill Industries, the Chatham County Health Department, and the Chatham County Aquatic Center. The first inbound trip will depart from Walmart at 7 a.m., on weekdays.
  • 5 Port Wentworth: New route that will provide service between the Joe Murray Rivers Jr., Intermodal Transit Center and Port Wentworth. Destinations served by the route include the Food Lion at Minus & Augusta, Port Wentworth City Hall, International Trade Parkway, and the Publix Super Market at Rice Hope. Service will run Monday – Sunday.
  • 7 Forsyth: Adding a third bus in service to create a 10-minute frequency on Monday through Saturday.
  • 25 MLK: Adding a second bus on Saturday to increase frequency.
