Chatham Area Transit announces that construction on the Oglethorpe Mall super stop will begin Monday, June 15, 2015. Expected to take approximately three weeks, the super stop brings added amenities and comfort to the existing transfer point under the parking deck. New features include an informational kiosk and TFT monitor for displaying real-time arrivals.
This project will temporarily close the existing bus stop under the parking deck, affecting passengers on the 14 Abercorn and 27 Waters routes. Passengers will not be able to board or alight from the stop under the parking deck during construction.
Instead, customers on the 14 Abercorn can choose between the Mall Boulevard bus stop (in front of Belk) or the bus stop located at the Sears automotive department.
The 27 Waters route will not enter the Oglethorpe Mall property as it travels outbound during construction, so customers will need to use stops along Mall Boulevard both inbound and outbound.
Visit our Alerts page for a map of the affected stops and for updates as construction of the super stop progresses. Thank you for your patience while we make these improvements, and please be sure to take special care in the areas under construction.
