CAT Board Statement on Resignation of Executive Director/CEO

5/7/2024 – Savannah, Ga – To the CAT community, riders and stakeholders:

Yesterday, we were informed that Ms. Faye DiMassimo resigned her role as Executive Director and CEO of Chatham Area Transit effective June 3 to accept a newly-created position with the City of Savannah.

When Ms. DiMassimo joined the authority in 2022, we worked hand-in-hand to bring CAT back from a global pandemic by adding new fixed routes and paratransit buses, balancing the budget while building CAT’s reserves, and improving the rider experience.

We appreciate Ms. DiMassimo’s work over the past two years and look forward to continuing to partner with the City of Savannah as we take CAT to even greater heights.

In the coming days, the board will come together to discuss next steps, from making an interim appointment to launching a search for a new CEO.

We appreciate your support during this transition and remain committed to moving Chatham forward.

Deidrick Cody, Chairman of the Board
Chatham Area Transit (CAT)
