Hurricane Milton Update #1 – Wednesday, October 9

In preparation for Hurricane Milton, CAT will suspend all services on Thursday, October 10, including Fixed-Route, Paratransit Mobility, CAT Connect, Savannah Belles Ferry, and the DOT Shuttle. Administrative offices, including the Joe Murray Rivers Jr. Intermodal Transit Center, will also be closed.

Hurricane Helene Update #8 – Tuesday, October 1
Chatham Area Transit (CAT) will resume services on Wednesday, October 2, with some minor reroutes.
This includes Fixed-Route, Paratransit Mobility, the Savannah Belles Ferry, and the DOT Shuttle.
In addition to returning to normal operations, all modes of transportation will be zero-fare through Friday, October 11.
All administrative offices will also be opened to the public.

Chatham Area Transit (CAT) will suspend services on Tuesday, October 1, in response to crew assessments from Helene. CAT services include Fixed-Route services, Paratransit Mobility, and the DOT Shuttle.

The Savannah Belles Ferry will be in operation from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

CAT’s services will remain suspended on Saturday, September 28, except the Savannah Belles Ferry. The Savannah Belles Ferry will resume service tomorrow morning at 7 am.

Hurricane Helene Update #2 – Thursday, September 26
Chatham Area Transit (CAT) is actively working with CEMA and our partners to ensure the safety of our riders and staff in expectation of potential weather impacts. Â
Please see below for the adjustment breakdown of our services:
Fixed-Route, DOT Shuttle:Â All services will be discontinued at 6 p.m.
- In addition to all services ending at 6 p.m., the following routes will discontinue service at 2:30 pm.
- 4 Barnard, 5 Port Wentworth, 11 Candler, and 12 Henry
- The last bus to leave the Joe Murray Rivers Jr Intermodal Transit Center (ITC) is as follows:
- 17 Silk Hope at 3:00 p.m.
- 3B Augusta Ave, 10 East Savannah, 25 Westlake, 31 Skidaway at 3:30 p.m.
- 3 West Chatham and 28 Waters at 4:00 p.m.
- 14 Abercorn and 27 Waters at 4:30 p.m.
Paratransit Mobility:Â Service will be discontinued at 6 p.m. Â
CAT Connect:Â Service will end at 12 p.m.
Savannah Belles Ferry:Â Service will be discontinued at 12 noon
Riders should expect delays and more service modifications pending weather impacts.
CAT Facilities:
- Joe Murray Rivers Jr. Intermodal Transit Center will close to the public at 5 p.m. today
- CAT Central will close to the public at 12 p.m. today
All facilities, Fixed-Route, Paratransit Mobility, CAT Connect, and the Savannah Belles Ferry will resume normal operations at 10 a.m., Friday, September 27, pending weather conditions.
