CAT Chief Development Officer Accepts New Position

Chatham Area Transit Authority (CAT) announces that Ramond Robinson has resigned as Chief Development Officer (CDO) effective February 2, 2015 after more than two years of service. Mr. Robinson has accepted a new position as Chief of Transit in Alexandria, Virginia. As the CDO with CAT, Mr. Robinson was responsible for Transit Planning, Legislative Affairs, Marketing/Outreach and Capital Development. During his tenure, he served as project manager for the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Project, oversaw expansion of Marketing/Outreach Programs, and spearheaded service adjustments.

“While it’s always hard to leave a community as welcoming as Savannah, I am proud of the progress I’ve had the opportunity to be a part of at CAT and excited to face a new challenge,” says Robinson. “I know the hard work we’ve been doing to prove ourselves as a premier mobility manager will continue without me, and I’d like to think of my leaving as less of an absence and more of an extension of CAT’s network of friends and transit allies. As the name of our TDP says, we are truly ‘Making Connections’ and I plan to continue that mission wherever I am.”

Dr. Chadwick Reese, CAT Executive Director commented, “Mr. Robinson is a tireless worker who is committed to his profession. He believes that public transportation must play a viable role not only in the community, but in our country, if we are to maintain our competitive advantage in a global society. His ideas and energy will be put to great use as he takes on the challenges of mobility in congestion in the DC Metro area. He will do great!”
