CAT to Adjust Service and Operations Due to Severe Weather Impacts

08/05/2024 – Chatham Area Transit (CAT), in collaboration with the Chatham Emergency Management Agency (CEMA), is closely monitoring potential weather impacts in Chatham County.  

CAT is prepared to make necessary adjustments to our service and operations to ensure the safety of our staff, riders, and community.

Please see below for the adjustment breakdown of our services:

Fixed-Route, DOT Shuttle: All services will be discontinued at 6 p.m.

  • In addition to all services ending at 6 p.m., the following routes will end at an earlier time:
    • 4 Barnard is expected to end at 4:00 p.m., riders can catch the 14 Abercorn to downtown, or route 28 Waters to Walmart
    • 11 Candler is expected to end at 2:30 p.m., riders can catch route 27 to Candler Hospital

Paratransit Mobility: Service will be discontinued at 6 p.m.  

CAT Connect: Service will end at 4 p.m.

Savannah Belles Ferry: Service will be discontinued at 12 noon

Riders should expect delays and more service modifications pending weather impacts.

All CAT services and operations, including CAT’s customer service department, will be fully suspended on Tuesday, August 6, and Wednesday, August 7. CAT’s staff, in partnership with CEMA and the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), will continuously monitor weather conditions to determine the operational status for Thursday, August 8.
