Chatham Area Transit Authority (CAT) will implement temporary fixed route detours and reroutes due to road closures surrounding Enmarket Bridge Run, Saturday, December 7 . CAT advises all riders to plan their trips accordingly to avoid disruptions.
Joe Murray Rivers Jr. Intermodal Transit Center:Â
- All fixed-route bus connections will be temporarily relocated from the Joe Murray Rivers Jr. Intermodal Transit Center (ITC) to a new connecting point at MLK Jr. Blvd. & Anderson St. This change will remain in effect until the conclusion of the marathon.
3A/3B:Â

DOT Shuttle:Â
- The DOT shuttle will not operate its usual routes during the marathon. Instead, it will serve as a transfer shuttle to connect riders with alternative routes. Normal DOT shuttle operations will resume once the marathon ends and roads closures open back up to the public.
Hurricane Milton Update #2 – Thursday, October 10
Chatham Area Transit (CAT) will resume normal operations on Friday, October 11.

In preparation for Hurricane Milton, CAT will suspend all services on Thursday, October 10, including Fixed-Route, Paratransit Mobility, CAT Connect, Savannah Belles Ferry, and the DOT Shuttle. Administrative offices, including the Joe Murray Rivers Jr. Intermodal Transit Center, will also be closed.

Hurricane Helene Update #8 – Tuesday, October 1
Chatham Area Transit (CAT) will resume services on Wednesday, October 2, with some minor reroutes.
This includes Fixed-Route, Paratransit Mobility, the Savannah Belles Ferry, and the DOT Shuttle.
In addition to returning to normal operations, all modes of transportation will be zero-fare through Friday, October 11.
All administrative offices will also be opened to the public.

Chatham Area Transit (CAT) is actively working with CEMA and our partners to ensure the safety of our riders and staff in expectation of potential weather impacts. Â
Please see below for the adjustment breakdown of our services:
Fixed-Route, DOT Shuttle:Â All services will be discontinued at 6 p.m.
- In addition to all services ending at 6 p.m., the following routes will discontinue service at 2:30 pm.
- 4 Barnard, 5 Port Wentworth, 11 Candler, and 12 Henry
- The last bus to leave the Joe Murray Rivers Jr Intermodal Transit Center (ITC) is as follows:
- 17 Silk Hope at 3:00 p.m.
- 3B Augusta Ave, 10 East Savannah, 25 Westlake, 31 Skidaway at 3:30 p.m.
- 3 West Chatham and 28 Waters at 4:00 p.m.
- 14 Abercorn and 27 Waters at 4:30 p.m.
Paratransit Mobility:Â Service will be discontinued at 6 p.m. Â
CAT Connect:Â Service will end at 12 p.m.
Savannah Belles Ferry:Â Service will be discontinued at 12 noon
Riders should expect delays and more service modifications pending weather impacts.

- Joe Murray Rivers Jr. Intermodal Transit Center will close to the public at 5 p.m. today

Former President Donald Trump Rally Reroutes
September 24, 2004
As part of ongoing security measures during Former President Donald Trump’s visit to Savannah today, several road closures and bus reroutes will be in effect. These changes are necessary to ensure the safety of all travelers. Please see the current reroute information below, and check back regularly for updates as new information becomes available.
Current Service Alerts:
- Traffic Delays:
- 3:00pm DUE TO THE EXTREME CONJESTED TRAFFIC IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA, ALL THE BUSES WILL BE RUNNING BEHIND AT LEAST 20 MINUTES
- As of 12:10 pm, there have been no changes to the reroutes for the affected routes. However, please be aware that there are traffic delays due to the motorcade route to the event.
- The 5 Pt Wentworth, 3 W Chatham, and 3B Augusta routes are currently at a standstill on Hwy 21 due to police blockage.

Cloverdale Neighborhood Traffic Plan & CAT Reroute Information
September 12, 2024
As part of the Cloverdale Asphalt Art Project, there will be phased road closures affecting travel and Chatham Area Transit (CAT) routes in the Cloverdale neighborhood from September 12, 2024, to October 4, 2024 (tentative dates). We understand that these closures may impact bus schedules, pickup locations, and general travel in the area. Below is a detailed overview of the phased closures and the CAT reroute plan to ensure safe travel during this period.
Phase I: Full Closure (September 12, 2024)
- Location: Intersection of Cloverdale Drive and Cynthia Street
- Time: 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
- Details: To accommodate the artist’s work on the Cloverdale Asphalt Art Project, there will be a full closure at this intersection to allow the artist to trace the project canvas. During this time, travel through this area will be completely restricted.
- Impact on CAT Service: CAT buses will follow the reroute plan described below until 2:00 PM.
CAT Bus Reroute for the Cloverdale Asphalt Art Project
During the closures on September 12, 2024, CAT buses will follow the reroute below to maintain safe and efficient service in the area:

This route has been selected to minimize disruptions and ensure the safest passage through the neighborhood, taking into consideration local parking and road conditions.
Phase II: Partial Road Closure (September 12, 2024, After 2:00 PM)
- Location: Cloverdale Drive and surrounding streets
- Time: After 2:00 PM
- Details: Following the full closure, traffic will partially resume in the neighborhood. Cloverdale Drive will be reopened to limited traffic, and the CAT operator will be able to travel on the regular route.
- Impact on CAT Service: Service will be restored to a modified version of the regular route.
Phase III: Intermittent Closures (September 13 – October 4, 2024)
- Location: Various streets in the Cloverdale neighborhood
- Details: As the project progresses, there will be intermittent closures throughout the neighborhood. These will affect different sections of Cloverdale Drive, Cynthia Street, and adjacent streets at various times.
