CAT to Implement Service Changes in August

8/18/2026 – Effective Monday, August 31, 2026, Chatham Area Transit Authority will implement service changes for some fixed routes. These changes will affect only the routes outlined below.

3B Augusta Ave: 

  • Weekday: The last trip will end service at 7:24 p.m. at Joe Murray Rivers Jr. Intermodal Transit Center (ITC).
  • No weekend changes

3 West Chatham/SAV HHI Airport:

  • Weekday: One (1) bus will operate all day.
  • Tripper Hours: 6 a.m. – 10 a.m., 2 p.m. – 6 p.m.
  • No weekend changes

4 Barnard:

  • Weekday: One bus will operate all day and will end at the ITC at 5:55 p.m.
  • Saturday: Last trip will end at 4:55 p.m. at the Walmart on Montgomery Crossroads.
  • No Sunday changes

6 Crosstown:

  • Weekday: One (1) bus will operate all day for a 2-hour roundtrip.
  • No weekend changes

10 East Savannah:

  • Weekday: One (1) bus will operate all day
  • Tripper Hours: 7 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: Service ends at 7:21 p.m. at Penn Waller & Johnny Mercer
  • No Sunday changes

11 Candler:

  • Route will be trippers only
  • Tripper Hours: 6:25 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., 1:50 p.m. – 6:17 p.m.

12 Henry:

  • Route will be trippers only
  • Tripper Hours: 6:24 a.m. – 12:46 p.m., 1:50 p.m. – 5:18 p.m.

14 Abercorn:

  • Weekday: Four (4) buses will operate all day for 30–40-minute roundtrip
  • Changes to PM Tripper: 2:59 p.m. – 6:52 p.m. weekdays
  • Saturday: Three (3) buses will operate all day. A fourth bus will operate between 1:45 p.m. and 5:45 p.m.
  • No Sunday changes

25 MLK:

  • Weekday: Two (2) buses will operate all day
  • Tripper Hours: 12 p.m. – 8 p.m.
  • No weekend changes

28 Waters:

  • Weekday: One (1) bus will operate all day
  • Route will travel to Hodgson Memorial on both inbound and outbound stops

31 Skidaway/Sandfly:

  • Weekday:  Two (2) buses will operate all day
  • Tripper Hours: 10:40 a.m. – 6:18 p.m. for a 45-minute round trip
  • Saturday: One bus will operate all day for a 60-120-minute round trip
  • Tripper will operate between 9:30 a.m. – 6:50 p.m. for a 60-minute round trip
  • No Sunday changes

Routes with no changes:

  • Route 5 Port Wentworth
  • Route 7D-C and 7F (Forsyth)
  • Route 17 Silk Hope
  • Route 27 Waters
