Chatham Area Transit’s Let’s Go! Designing Better Transit Together initiative is now underway, which will result in a system-wide redesign of the community’s fixed-route bus network upon completion.  The 18-month comprehensive redesign effort is a first for CAT, which has many bus routes that have not been changed in decades despite the changing and growing community.

To assist the community with becoming familiar and engaged with the project, CAT has established a project-specific website at letsgo.catchacat.org that provides information on the initiative, data and project documents, upcoming events, and a sign up area where people can register to receive email updates.

In addition, the first of three online surveys is available now through February 10, in both English and Spanish.  All members of the community are encouraged to participate by completing the five-minute survey, which may be accessed by clicking HERE.

The Let’s Go! Designing Better Transit Together system redesign project will rely heavily on input from

the community. The project is anticipated to conclude at the end of 2019.

Let’s Go! Designing Better Transit Together will result in an overhaul of CAT’s fixed-route bus network, based on technical analysis, best practices, and input from the community. The consultant team is led by Jarrett Walker + Associates, an international transit planning firm based in Portland, Oregon, with assistance from Symbioscity, an urban planning firm based in Savannah.
