March 31, 2020
In these difficult times, CAT understands the importance of maintaining public transportation for the people who rely on us every day. Our commitment is to operate a safe, efficient and clean transit system and we are taking extra precautions.
On March 26, CAT started operating on a reduced schedule throughout the week in response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. We are also limiting the capacity of our buses to 50 percent to allow passengers more room to spread out and adhere to social distancing requirements. In addition, CAT is temporarily waiving fare collection to minimize operator and public contact and provide some relief to families who may be losing wages as a result of the health crisis.
To help prevent the spread of the virus, we also are asking that customers only use our services for essential trips, such as getting to medical appointments, work or the grocery stores. By working together, I believe we can get through this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Michael J. Brown | Interim Executive Director/CEO
