Savannah, GA— From 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Chatham Area Transit will provide free transportation to residents without private transportation to the Savannah Civic Center to assist in the mandatory evacuation of Chatham County spurred by Hurricane Dorian. CAT’s buses will cease operating at 6 p.m. on Tuesday and operations will remain suspended until further notice.
Other impacts:
- CAT suspended the Savannah Belles Ferry service at 8 p.m. Monday.
- The free downtown dot shuttle will not operate on Tuesday.
- CAT’s paratransit service, CAT Mobility, will not operate Tuesday.
- The customer service line, (912) 233-5767, will operate on a shortened scheduled from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
- The ticket/informational window at the JMR Intermodal Transit Center, 610 West Oglethorpe Avenue, will operate on a shortened schedule from 7 a.m. to 12 pm. on Tuesday.
