Chatham Area Transit Authority (CAT) officials announce a new monthly meeting for paratransit customers designed to focus on their specific wants and needs.
CAT is proud to provide a demand-response service to the disabled citizens of this community and recognizes that their experiences can differ from those of the fixed route bus service. In an effort to better address issues that are of specific concern to these customers, a Paratransit Customer Service Meeting will be held on the second Tuesday of each month to share dialogue about using and improving the paratransit service.
This new meeting will be in addition to the regularly scheduled public meeting already held on the second Wednesday of each month. It is separate only to allow additional time and dedicated discussion about the paratransit service. Everyone is still welcome to attend the public meeting on the second Wednesday to address questions or ideas about the fixed route, ferry, bike share, and other CAT business. The intent is to keep both meetings to 1 hour yet expand the opportunities for feedback.
While scheduled in the future for the second Tuesday of each month, the first Paratransit Customer Service Meeting will be held on February 7, 2017 to avoid any conflicts with Valentine’s Day. It will begin at 6:00 PM at the Joe Murray Rivers, Jr. Intermodal Transit Center located at 610 W. Oglethorpe Avenue. Future meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of each month.
