CAT Announces New Airport Express Service

As part of the service changes effective Monday, October 7, 2013, Chatham Area Transit will introduce a new express bus service from the Joe Murray Rivers Jr. Intermodal Transit Center to the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport.

The Airport Express (Route 100X) will offer passengers–both residents and visitors alike–non-stop, affordable and faster access from the airport to downtown Savannah.  Route 100X will operate every hour from approximately 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday-Saturday, with only $1.50 one-way fare, the same as a regular fixed route ride fare.

In addition to providing a convenient and cost-effective transit alternative to the millions of visitors traveling from the Savannah Airport to beautiful downtown Savannah, the Airport Express also will provide a faster, direct route for our local residents and those who work at the airport.  Upon arrival at the Transit Center, passengers will be able to select from various transportation options to continue their trip to other destinations: walking to nearby hotels, shops, and historic sites; connecting with the dot—Savannah’s fare-free downtown transportation system; bike share access; and easy transfers to other CAT routes.
