Chatham Area Transit has designated September 23 – 27, 2013 as “Try Transit Week.” “Try Transit Week” is a national event sponsored by the American Public Transit Association (APTA) aimed at getting motorists out of their cars and onto public transit for at least one day during the week. It promotes awareness of public transportation and its practical use of blending with other forms of transportation, i.e., park-and-rides, shared rides, bicycling and walking. It is also a perfect opportunity to express appreciation to the people who contribute to the success of public transportation. Chatham Area Transit is also holding a canned food drive to assist America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia. Boxes will be provided on all CAT vehicles for riders to donate canned foods and non-perishable items.
Chatham Area Transit is offering the following promotions to encourage local residents to try public transportation.
