Chatham Area Transit (CAT) is set to transform the landscape of public transportation in Savannah-Chatham County, and we invite you to be a part of this exciting moment.
CAT is proud to announce its first Microtransit Community Pop-Up Event, scheduled for Friday, October 20, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Pennsylvania Avenue Resource Center, located at 425 Pennsylvania Avenue, Savannah, GA.
This much-anticipated event promises to be an electrifying showcase of innovation that will reshape the way we view and experience public transportation.
Here’s what you can look forward to:
- Microtransit Unveiling: Be among the first to lay eyes on CAT’s sleek and state-of-the-art microtransit vehicle. These cutting-edge, eco-friendly marvels are designed to revolutionize your daily commute.
- Engaging Activities: Learn more about the microtransit project through interactive info booths. Our team of experts will be on hand to answer your questions and guide you through this remarkable transit innovation.
- Community Engagement: Connect with CAT’s dedicated partners (Georgia Tech, Savannah State University, ATU Local 1324, Georgia DOT) driving CAT’s microtransit initiative. Gain insights into their vision for a more efficient, sustainable, and passenger-centric public transit system.
The $1.2 Million SMART (Strengthening Mobility & Revolutionizing Transportation) Grant, secured by U.S. Senators Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock, allows CAT to explore a new electric vehicle micro-transit project –– which would provide a reliable, on demand service for residents across Chatham County.
